Bayshore Flash!

I shaved 10 minutes off of my Bayshore time from last year! Now, that's mostly because I learned when to gulp down water and when not to (um, 3 full bottles of water half an hour pre-race=very, very bad idea). I was able to run nearly the whole time--only making one pit-stop and clothes drop-- someone maybe picked up a nice WRIF men's large black tee-shirt at one of the port oh johns by the side of the race or perhaps a pair of Family Dollar blue capri sweats.

Coach Ken thinks I'm flashing him in this photo, but I was just trying to show my TNT's-- Team in Training logos and honored hero. Ah well, I guess he can dream ;)

Finished the race: 2 hours and 36 minutes. SO next year's goal: 10 minute pace or finish at or under 2 hours!

I had this crazy temp tattoo on my arm that showed where I should be if I was keeping a 10:41 pace-- I still have it on despite an ice bath and showers later. Looks like someone stamped me with an oversized bar code. Had I kept that pace I would have finished in exactly 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Stoney Creek photo blog

This was last Saturday--my last long run, a taper run 8.5 miles, but, as you can tell, I did not really go all out as I spent much time taking photos- often while running but also while stopping--especially for the bird shots.

My running partner Jackie was wine tasting up north, so I thought I would photograph the training for her--especially photographing her favorite bird: the Oriole.

This truly is a beautiful place to train and is a nice compliment to my city runs.
